Superintendent Norris Wayne Booth was born on September 5, 1960 to J. B. and Margie Frederick-Booth in Dallas, Texas. Superintendent Booth grew up in the Church of God in Christ and was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 19. He received a call to the gospel ministry at age 20.

 

Superintendent Booth has been married for 27 years to Melody Brown-Booth. As a previous member of House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Dallas, Texas, he served in member capacities:

 

  • Usher Board  •  Sunday School Superintendent
  • Choir Member  •   Adult Bible Study Teacher
  • Youth Pastor (15 Years)  •  Assistant Pastor (5 Years)

Superintendent Booth has been apart of both Texas Northeast First and Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction. Prior to transitioning to Texas Northeast Third, he was able to serve as the Executive Secretary to the Missionary District for 10 years. In 1995, Superintendent Booth organized Greater Fellowship Church of God in Christ and in 2006 organized Grace Cathedral District of which both were organized under Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction.

 

In 2007, Superintendent Booth was appointed as Chairman of the Pastors and Elders Council and currently serves in that position today. He has also had the privilege to serve on the National Committee for the Bishop's Conference as the representative for Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction and in 2010 was the instructor for the Ordination Committee for the same jurisdiction.

 

Superintendent Booth is a high school graduate of L. G. Pinkston, Dallas, Texas and also attended Southern Bible Institute for biblical studies. He was licensed as a minister in 1981 and licensed as an Elder in 1990 both by the late Bishop J. Neaul Haynes, prelate of Texas Northeast  First. He received the Certificate of Appointment for District Superintendent in 2006 by the late Bishop T. W. Johnson, prelate Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction.
