In 1981, it was prophesied that Pastor Norris Booth would one day be a Pastor and the prophesy started unfolding in January of 1995. God woke him up in the middle of the night and spoke to him about starting a church. A neighbor gave his mother the contact information of a person for him to call to inquire about leasing a building, without even having knowledge of what had previously happened to him. After making contact with the manager of Girls, Inc., she agreed to lease the building for $100.00 a month. The building was fully equipped to house any starting congregation.

 

An obstacle came when the director of all the buildings required personal insurance for any tenant before occupying the building. By faith, Pastor Booth and his mother went to the Girls, Inc. corporate office to meet the director and sign the contract for the building. After having met with the director, God granted them favor, and the director waived the request for personal insurance until we were able to acquire it. Favor was presented again, when Pastor Booth did not have the finance to make a deposit on the lease of the building. God touched the heart of one of his brothers to give money with no questions asked.

 

On, Sunday, April 23, 1995, Greater Fellowship Church of God in Christ held it's 1st church service at the Girls, Inc. building in West Dallas, located at 2607 Toronto Street. The Greater Fellowship church family worshiped at this location for six years, many souls were saved and many received divine healing for the human body through prayer and faith. We had a desire to obtain our own church building, so we started programs and gave finance toward the purchase of our new building.

 

Opposition came again, when the West Dallas Girls, Inc., changed management, and during the latter part of the year 2000, we were told that we would have to move in six months. God's favor showed up again when Pastor Booth was told by another Pastor that a church building was on the market, but no for sale sign had even been placed in the church yard. God moved expeditiously, with the finances present and the support of the Texas Northeast 3rd Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Bishop T. W. Johnson, we were able to obtain the building that we were presently worshiping in.

 

On, Sunday,  April 08, 2001, God blessed the Greater Fellowship Church of God in Christ church family to hold their 1st service in their very own building, located at 6707 Pastor Bailey Drive, Dallas, Texas 75237. Nine years later, our programs have evolved, our determination is sure, our leader has given us a vision and God's provision will be there to sustain. Look what GREATer things the Lord has done and is going to do!
